All I Wanted to do was add a Pic...

Let me tell you, this entrepreneurial life ain't no joke! This blog post was birthed as a result of spending the last 54 minutes merely trying to add a pic to an email. Really, I promise, that was all I was trying to do. I was sending out my weekly email to the Closet Creatives subscribers. I created a snazzy graphic on my smartphone that I wanted to attach. To understand the email you had to see the graphic first. So it was imperative that I get this graphic into the email. Easy, peasy right? HA! Only I would take what should have been a fairly easy task and turn it into a technological nightmare! I mean, you have read my first post haven't you?.

Let me first say that I pretty much do everything via my smart phone except typing prose. For some reason I can text like a 14 year old girl, but when it comes to forming complete sentences, I need an actual keyboard in front of me. That explains why I was on my laptop crafting the email when I realized the image I needed was on my phone. "No problem" I thought, "I know what to do." Or do I? There began my decline down the virtual rabbit hole. I'm going to list the exact events literally as they happened so you can get a glimpse of what goes on in this scattered mind of mine...
* Downloaded pic to Google Drive (GD)
* Scrolling through GD to find pic, I am reminded of my unfinished bio that is due on the 25th
* Pull bio up to an open window so that I can finish that as soon as I'm done with task at hand
* Find pic, try to upload, pic won't upload
* Send pic as an email to myself
* Go to email, realize I haven't checked any emails yet today. Proceed to check and read emails while I wait for the pic email. Ten minutes pass...
* Remember why I'm even in my emails anyway, refresh page, retrieve pic
* Pic still won't upload
* While troubleshooting, discover a new GD option that will allow transferring of docs/pics from phone to computer.
* Find a usb cord, open option and proceed to download. Start seeing pics I had forgotten all about. Take another ten minutes going back down memory lane. (que Minnie Riperton)
* Snap back and remember what I'm supposed to be doing only to discover that the download to the computer never worked. Graphic is still not on the computer.
* Have a stroke of genius moment and decide to see if the email website has an phone app
* Open Google Play on smart phone, find app
* Download app
* Open app
* Upload graphic (finally)
* Send test email to self
* Read more emails while waiting for test email
* Ten minutes later, realize I'm still waiting for test email that hasn't arrived
* Think, "I better check my spam for it" and discover that spam is now "all mail" option
* Discover all kinds of emails I've never seen because they were not going to my inbox
* Mark all of them as "send to inbox" so that I can catch up later ( ok, while perusing a few important ones)
* Refresh
* Ooen email, read it, all is well
* Send email to subscribers
* Look at clock and realize that an hour is just about gone and I've only gotten one task done on my ten+ business 'to do' list for today.
* Vow that I'm never going to allow myself to get sidetracked and loss again because I am now hip to it's all being designed as a time wasting set-up!
* Move on to open bio window, read halfway through what I've written so far
* Suddenly have the thought that I haven't checked Instagram and Facebook for a whole hour
* Well, I'm pretty sure you have an idea of what happened from there...
